My favorite day of the South Africa Exchange Program

One of my favorite days of the exchange program was when we had lived a day in the life of our exchange student. We attended their classes and understood how the school works. I wasn’t used to the setting of their school because it was more of an outdoors school rather than a building like Latin. The structure of the day was very similar, but the classes and curriculum were night and day. Teachers were very welcoming and their academic life was very relaxing. After school students can unwind by working out at the gym, playing sports, or even hanging out. Homework life looked a lot different than mine and it was definitely something I would love to get used to.

Over the duration of our trip, I had visited many different neighborhoods and residencies. Each part of Cape Town had its unique charm. My exchange student lived in Fish Hoek. It was very close to the beach where we would surf, but fairly far from his school. I found it difficult to wake up so early every morning to travel to school; but on the way to and from school, I was able to observe the way the neighborhoods would shift from being a less wealthy area to a more proper neighborhood.
